Our team
Paul
Financial Adviser
I provide advice to clients in clear and simple terms that ensures that they optimise their financial situations which enables them to reach a point in their lives where they can do the things they want to do, rather than the things they have to do, because they are better off financially as a result of the advice I have provided to them.
I became a Financial Adviser in 1990, based in the City and West End of London. I moved from employment and built a self employed practice in the mid 1990’s, whilst also recruiting and training individuals to become Financial Advisers.
I am very passionate about my industry and profession and believe that people have a higher probability of achieving success in their long term objectives with a plan put in place by a Financial Adviser.
I want to make advice accessible to all and to help close the advice gap and give our clients the confidence that as clients of Octopus Money that they are not only getting great added value advice, a better investment experience and potentially better outcomes, but because of our investment philosophy – they are having a positive impact on people and the planet.
I am saving towards a world trip with my family where we will take in Japan, Hawaii, San Francisco, New York and then back to London!
Kristian
Financial Adviser
I am a Chartered Financial Adviser and Fellow of the personal finance society, working within the Advice team at Octopus Money. I have been with Octopus for over 3 years and before that worked at an independent firm for 3 and a half years. I specialise in estate planning and helping business owners, but get great enjoyment from working with a wide range of clients.
Outside of Octopus I help run my family business.
I enjoy playing hockey, with my team getting promoted last season and am a fair weather sailor.
Octopus appealed to me due to the forward looking approach they are taking with financial advice, moving away from the old industry model of opaque fee structures and delivering advice in a way clients can understand what’s happening with their money.
I’m saving for early retirement and a sailing boat.
Tim
Financial Adviser
I’m a Financial Adviser within the Advice Team at Octopus Money – also holding qualifications in Mortgage Advice, Equity Release, Long-Term Care, and Defined Benefit Pension Transfers.
I’ve been in financial services for over 20 years, in various client-facing roles within a large UK bank, and subsequently in my true area of passion – financial advice. Think of me as a Martin Lewis type figure, someone with a long-standing desire to help people understand and manage their finances, turn complexity into simplicity, and put clients and their families in the best possible position.
Why Octopus? Quite simply the ethos right from the very top and the people. We’re addressing many of the key areas that the industry just hasn’t been able to get right – value for money, clarity, approachability, and true ongoing support.
I’m a proud dad of two young “energetic” children and my passions outside of personal finance are as an all-round sports enthusiast (watching, playing, and debating) and purveyor of home grown vegetables.
Claims to fame? I’ve never had a filling or a broken bone, I can do a terrific levitation trick, and I finished 214th out of 7.6 million entrants in Fantasy Premier League.
I’m saving for a garden office (a place to hide).
Nishit
Senior Paraplanner
I’m a Senior Paraplanner within the Advice Team at Octopus Money. My main role is to help formulate advice for new and existing clients with a view to making an impactful difference in their current and future financial positions.
My past has been varied having worked for providers such as Standard Life and AEGON (Scottish Equitable), investment managers such as Fidelity, Close Wealth Management and LGT Vestra as well as boutique investment houses such as London and Capital and Gallagher Wealth. I have been supporting advisers for over 25 years and bring a wealth of experience and common sense to my role.
I have always been involved in charitable work and have been a committee member of an Asian Diaspora charity involved in maintaining and promoting asian heritage back to my mother’s village of Dharmaj in India, working with DHASOL (Dharmaj Society of London). I also support and actively participate in Cancer Research charities given my wife’s recent breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and ongoing path to remission.
I joined Octopus Money because I have a passion to help people. I want to use my experience and knowledge to help bridge the advice gap, try and break the wealth divide and ensure as many people as possible are maximising their wealth.
I’m saving for epic holidays. Thailand last year, hopefully Sri Lanka next year!
Ben
Senior Paraplanner
I’m a Senior Paraplanner within the Advice Team at Octopus Money and my role is to look at the current financial situation of our clients, including any pensions, savings or investments which they might have and review them to establish if they are ‘fit for purpose’ i.e. are they helping them reach their financial goals and objectives.
I’ve worked for Octopus Money since April 2024 but have been helping people with their finances since 2017, having worked for a small independent firm and a larger advice practice in the past.
I joined Octopus Money as I’m passionate about helping people with money regardless of how much of it they have which aligns with the entire ethos of Octopus Money as a business.
Much of my time away from work is spent pavement pounding in my running trainers, doing my best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression in the gym or watching my hometown team the mighty Crawley Town FC.
I’m saving for a car.
Emily
Senior Paraplanner
I’m a Senior Paraplanner at Octopus Money. I help people make sense of their financial lives, whether it’s planning for retirement, managing inheritance, or dealing with more complex money matters. My job is to make sure the advice we give is top-notch and fits perfectly with what our clients need.
Before joining Octopus to begin changing people’s lives, I studied International Politics at Newcastle University. With a thirst for more learning I continued studying for my Financial Planning diploma and began working for an outsource paraplanning firm. This gave me exposure to adviser firms all across the UK, absorbing the best ways of working to bring to Octopus and our clients.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about giving back. I’ve spent time volunteering in Tanzania, working on projects focused on women’s rights and education. I’m driven by a genuine desire to help people achieve their goals, which is why I love working at Octopus Money—their mission to make financial planning accessible to everyone really drives me.
I’m saving for a big adventure. My dream is to continue travelling the world, exploring new cultures and making unforgettable memories.
Liam
Senior Paraplanner
I’m a Senior Paraplanner at Octopus Money and I am currently working towards Chartered status.
I have been with Octopus Money for over a year working closely with our advisers to produce suitable recommendations for our clients. I have recently started to move into an adviser role, where I’m managing my own client bank alongside continuing to support fellow advisers within the business.
Our mission to simplify financial advice and make it accessible to everyone is what motivates me each day. I am passionate about putting the client at the heart of everything we do, bridging the advice gap and helping clients achieve their financial goals.
I’m a keen sports fan and enjoy following the mighty Chelsea FC but when I need to unwind, you’ll find me on the golf course, enjoying the perfect mix of challenge and relaxation.
Currently saving for a holiday to Thailand and South East Asia.
Jacinda
Operations
I’m an Operations Executive at Octopus Money. My day to day responsibilities at Octopus Money include collecting information about our clients’ existing financial situations to support advisers and planners in delivering and fulfilling advice.
I’ve worked in financial services for over 5 years since getting my undergraduate and masters degrees in Finance at university, so you can safely say I love finance.
I always knew I wanted to help people but knew I could never be a doctor, so the financial advice world felt like my calling.
In my spare time, I love being an emotional Gunners fan and going to the gym.
I’m saving to buy Arsenal football club and take control!
Emmy
Operations
I’m an Operations Executive at Octopus Money, and my role is to provide client support to our financial planners and advisers. I began my financial services journey studying, you guessed it… Geography!
I have been working in the Wealth Management industry for 2 years. Since graduating, my goal has been to become a financial adviser and I am currently working through the exams to achieve this.
Outside of the usual hustle and bustle of work, I’m a proud uncle to my incredible nephew Amari.
Why Octopus? My favourite saying is “Carpe Diem” and that’s what springs to mind working at Octopus. I think the strategy and vision for how we wish to revolutionise the financial advice industry is incredible. A sort of “out with old ways and in with the new” feel – who says we can’t change the conventional way of providing financial advice? People want advice that feels personable, they want to be acknowledged and feel like they are more than a client. Advice should feel like a conversation between two mates and that is what Octopus is doing.
