Having enjoyed a fifteen year career in the corporate world, I swapped million pound budgets for non-existent ones and started the first of several small businesses in 2009. Twelve years later I sold the first start up (the largest which was a CNC machine shop) and was left running the remaining smaller businesses. It was at this time that I came across financial coaching and was instantly intrigued.

Money has been important to me since the age of eighteen. I was incredibly fortunate to enjoy a privileged upbringing, a private education and wanted for very little until my mother threw me out at eighteen (we disagreed over whether or not I should go to university – she said yes…I said no…). Suddenly I discovered that living was expensive when my salary alone had to cover everything and I ran up credit card debts withdrawing cash at extortionate interest rates to pay for food and rent – generally living well beyond my means.

I learnt the hard way with no one to fall back on (my mother was a stubborn woman who cut me off completely for years!) and worked two jobs, six days a week and paid off my debt. With grit and determination, I bought my first property at nineteen years of age. There have been a few bumps in the road along the way but I have never looked back. And the foundation to that has always been being in control of my money.

Away from work I love walking my dogs on the beautiful Norfolk beaches nearby, helping my long-suffering husband renovate our Edwardian farm house (which was uninhabitable in 2017 when we bought it…) and spending time with my family.
